Console Courtesy Lamp Lenses (Pair)
1961-1962 BuickÂ
LeSabre, Invicta, Wildcat, Electra
Here’s a reproduction that we have been working on for many years. Just about every 1961 and 1962 Buick we’ve seen has had yellowed, deteriorated or missing console lenses. Buick never offered a replacement lens. The console lamp was only offered as an assembly – housing and lens, manufactured together. We have developed a lens that, with a little restoration skill from you, will brighten up your interior and look 100% authentic. Please follow the pictures in order and utilize these instructions:
#1,2,3 Our replacement lenses
#4 A typical view of what a 1961 & 1962 Buick Console Lamp looks like. Assembly removed from car.
#5 Here we have removed the old plastic just to the edge of the housing (notice there is still old remnants of the lens. This is fine as there is no need to remove every bit of the old plastic)
#4 Now take a knife or Dremel tool and remove just enough of the old plastic so that new lens will fit snugly into the housing
#5 Pictured is the new lens and the housing cleaned and ready for assembly. Install the new lens into the housing using just a small amount of plastic cement
#6 Finished assembly looking like day one.
